Description
The English word frankincense derives from the Old French expression franc encens, meaning “high-quality incense”. The word franc in Old French meant “noble” or “pure”.Frankincense resin can be produced from 5 main species of trees, belonging to the genus Boswellia. Frankincense honey, aka olibanum honey or boswellia honey, is one of the rarest honey on Earth. Frankincense honey is produced by the indigenous Omani dwarf bee (Apis florea). These little fellows have evolved alongside the Omani frankincense trees, and preferentially seek out their fragrant, white flowers.
